Festive Walk in Hawarden

For our festive morning walk in Hawarden on 16 December, we enjoyed a wintry visit to Hawarden Park where the frost provided some beautiful scenery. At the end of the walk we spent some time in St Deiniol’s Church to admire the spectacular display of the Christmas Tree Festival sponsored by local organisations, groups and businesses. We then convened at the Institute for Christmas treats and tea/coffee together with a free Christmas raffle all organised brilliantly as ever by Heather.

23rd December

Please note that we shall not be holding either the morning or afternoon walks starting at Hawarden Institute on Friday 23rd December as the Institute will not be open. We shall, however be holding our walks as usual on Friday 30th December.

Queen Elizabeth II

During our morning walks on Friday 9 September the Hawarden group paused at the Castle Gates to pay our respects to the Queen. Our Chairman, Ian Gibbons laid some freshly-picked flowers from his garden on behalf of us all. Rest in peace your Majesty.
